Ah that first kiss. Do you remember it? Your most memorable kiss. What do you feel when you think of it? I love kisses, kissing, locking lips, sucking face, whatever you want to call it.
A kiss by a child is sweet. A kiss by your favorite Aunt is touching. A kiss by your mom is healing. A kiss by your dad is feeling protected. A kiss by your lover is exciting.
There are as many kinds of kisses as there are ways of kissing. The soft kisses a mother gives her newborn. The funny kisses a pet gives you. That kiss on a cheek, or the top of your head. A kiss of the hand. Blowing a kiss to someone.
The passionate kiss of the person you love. That first kiss when you were 6 and your neighbor was 5. How sweet was that. You enjoyed it but didn’t want to say so. After all girls had cooties back then.
The breathless anticipation of some kisses. Finally getting a kiss from that person you have secretly desired for a long time and thought you would never have the opportunity to taste their intoxicating lips.
What makes a kiss so special to you? That feeling in the pit of your stomach when two pairs of lips lock in passion. Ah sweet passionate kisses. Or hard, breathless kisses. I love them all.
Kisses
Kisses kept are wasted;
Love is to be tasted.
There are some you love, I know;
Be not loathe to tell them so.
Lips go dry and eyes grow wet
Waiting to be warmly met.
Keep them not in waiting yet;
Kisses kept are wasted.
To A Kiss
Humid seal of soft affections,
Tend’rest pledge of future bliss,
Dearest tie of young connections,
Love’s first snow-drop, virgin kiss.
Speaking silence, dumb confession,
Passion’s birth, and infants’ play,
Dove-like fondness, chaste concession,
Glowing dawn of brighter day.
Sorrowing joy, adieu’s last action,
Ling’ring lips, — no more to join!
What words can ever speak affection
Thrilling and sincere as thine!
The Kiss
Soon, yes soon, we’ll have our chance,
To embrace each other in love’s dance.
A dance which I’ll take her hand and show,
The love she’s yet to know.
And yes, we’ll know it with that kiss,
The first look of tender bliss.
The hug and warm embrace will say it all,
The fear and doubts we’ve had will fall,
Fall from the precipice into the abyss,
With that first sweet tender kiss.
This is lovely and sweet – and fun, too. I kiss more dogs than humans these days. And I honestly do not remember my first kiss. Not a childhood kiss, not a first boyfriend kiss – nothing.

I don’t remember my first kiss either, but I do remember kissing someone for that first time and feeling those fluttering feelings in my stomach. Course that was a while ago too. but not really a first boyfriend kiss. don’t remember that one. Does that make us weird? ha!
