Genre/General Fiction (99 words)


She set up her easel and paints, angling it to get the best light. Sitting on the small fold up stool she studied the broken building. Memories flooded her mind. Younger days of playing around the brightly painted barn. Grandfather and father working inside. Sparkling sunshine flooding her private playground. She picked up her brush and colors built on canvas.

Not of rundown and forgotten, but of bustling and worked filled days. The ghosts of the past watched with approval as an aged spotted hand brought life once more to worn,  weathered wood. It lived again on canvas, painted with loving memories.
