It’s my favorite time of week again! Yes, Friday Fictioneers time! Thanks goes out again to Rochelle Wisoff-Fields for hosting. Please click on her name if you want to join and read the rules or if you want to read more stories!
THE CHALLENGE:
Write a one hundred word story that has a beginning, middle and end. (No one will be ostracized for going over or under the word count.)
THE KEY:
Make every word count.
Genre/General Fiction (99 words)
She set up her easel and paints, angling it to get the best light. Sitting on the small fold up stool she studied the broken building. Memories flooded her mind. Younger days of playing around the brightly painted barn. Grandfather and father working inside. Sparkling sunshine flooding her private playground. She picked up her brush and colors built on canvas.
Not of rundown and forgotten, but of bustling and worked filled days. The ghosts of the past watched with approval as an aged spotted hand brought life once more to worn, weathered wood. It lived again on canvas, painted with loving memories.
I love the imagery in this… Very good.

Hi Jackie,
Great premise for your story, painting the memories of the past instead of the decayed fragments that are left today. I enjoyed this. Ron
