Hello people! I made it back. Whew. I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to do FF this week. But I’m squeezing it in today. Better a day late than never, right? Anyway, I would like to thank our gracious Rochelle Wisoff-Fields for hosting again this week. Please click on her name and that will take you to Rochelle’s blog. From there you can read the few rules we have for this great weekly endeavor if you would like to join us. We would be pleased to have you!
Or you can click on Rochelle’s name and scroll down till you see the little blue guy and click on him to go to where you can read lots of great writing all taken from the same picture. It really is fascinating.
THE CHALLENGE:
Write a one hundred word story that has a beginning, middle and an end. (No one will be ostracized for going over or under the word count.)
THE KEY:
Make every word count.
Here is this week’s photo and my take on it.
Genre – General Fiction (100 words)
Helen sat in a booth and nervously sipped her white wine. Everytime a man would walk by she froze, wondering if he was the one. She picked her favorite bar for the meeting. Figured it was safer. After all she was meeting him for the first time.
They had talked on the phone, texted, even emailed each other a time or two. She spotted a few people she knew, but didn’t invite them over. She wanted to talk to him alone.
Sensing him, she looked up.
“Mrs. Smith? Private Investigator Nevins. I have the pictures.”
Oh, and I thought it was a date! You got me. Good one, Jackie.

Dear Jackie,
You certainly had me believing it was a blind date. Well crafted. Loved the twist at the end.

This is perfect! I was expecting a happy encounter with a new date. Leave it to you to bring the twist!! 🙂
I’ve been drinking adult beverages and reading blogs for the past couple of hours. I started at the top of my reader and am working my way down. I saw you were stalking me again (Yay!), and then your FF showed up in my reader. It’s a synchronicity moment! 🙂
