Friday Fictioneers ~~ May 17

Hello everyone! Welcome again to Friday Fictioneers. This is where talented writers get together every Friday (or Wed, Thur) to write a 100 words based on their own interpretation of a single picture. These stringing of words will inspire, make you think, go wow!, and will pull out of you all sorts of emotions. Please click on the leader of the group’s name (Rochelle Wisoff-Fields) and you will be transported via internet magic to her blog where you can read the very few rules we writers have to follow, if you want to join us. Or you can scroll down and click on the cute little blue critter you will see there. It will take you on a wonderful journey to all the different writers who make his group so great. Read their stories and be amazed!

THE CHALLENGE:

Write a one hundred word story that has a beginning, middle and an end. (No one will be ostracized for going over or under the word count.)

THE KEY:

Make every word count.

She sat with her eyes closed, face toward the sun. Her body  relaxed, her palms laying face up in her lap.

This was her favorite spot. Quiet, full of the lushness of nature. Birds singing, bees buzzing,  wind gently teasing the bushes.

She was  still as death. He watched the slight fall and rise of her chest to make sure she was breathing. Yes! There was movement to attest to her living.

He moved to touch her shoulder, his fingers gentle.  Slowly her eyes opened, sharp intelligence glowing in their brown depths.

“Madame President, it is time to give your acceptance speech.”

  2. We can dream (meaning it would be great to have, not just a woman president, but a truly peaceful and spiritually aware president too. I am cynically thinking if a candidate was spiritually evolved they
wouldn’t run for president in the first place or would find it impossible to get elected…but good on you for keeping a positive outlook 🙂

    1. have to have a positive outlook in today’s world or I would go nuts with despair. I am always hopeful that a new kind of politician will emerge and people will open their eyes. I’m an opptimist. 🙂
