Daily Prompt: Dream Home
You win a contest to build your dream home. Draft the plans.
This is today’s Daily Prompt and I just had to add my 2 cents.
I have dreamed about a custom-built home for years now. I can see it so clearly in my mind. I have pinned places and ideas on Pinterest. Ah dreams……..
First it would be in the woods. Lots of trees and wildlife. It would kind of blend in the surroundings. Sort of like this:
I don’t need nor want a really big house. Just one that’s comfortable and has a large studio for painting, writing, and relaxing, with lots of windows. Like this:
It also has to have a library. I’ve always wanted a room just for books, reading writing. On the lines of this:
Then of course I must have a great kitchen. That goes without saying. I love this:
Then there is my bedroom. That has to be relaxing and beautiful. Like this:
And then the bathroom. I want something unusual, with a view. Of course I would have to have lots of privacy, but ah it would be worth it. Like this:
As you can see I’ve given it some thought. Now I just need to win that contest, or the lottery. Whichever. 😉

I have had many variations of my dream home over the year, it began with a dream to live in a small log cabin surrounded by woods with a stream or lake nearby so I could always hear the sound of water. My home today would be very similar in size to what I have now just a few of the quirks worked out and more windows.

I guess I need a bit more space 🙂 but it’s all good. Windows are always good as is nature. I love the water too, but more in the form of lakes or ponds. Streams are good too.

I’m going to have to find your pinterest site and borrow. I have to have a front porch so neighbors could come by and sit a spell with a glass of wine or tea. I love your kitchen but I rarely have anyone to cook for anymore. I always say the only reason I have a kitchen is because it came with the house. A work room for sewing and crafting with all those windows would be such a blessing. Every room in my house is a library but a real one would be my idea of heaven. I’ve never had a home, just places to live. But I’m working on it. I have one more move to make and I hope it will be a real home. Love your descriptions and the pictures.

Yeah I would need a front porch too. I like to have my coffee early in the morning on it. I don’t have but me and hubby to cook for, but I have always wanted to have a kitchen like that. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and dreaming with me.

I have to admit that my dream home would be a Hobbit hole with a large library and a pantry full of gluten-free fare. I envied Bilbo’s house in the new Hobbit movie.

I haven’t seen the new Hobbit movie, but I bet the house was cute. It’s whatever makes a person the happiest. 🙂
