THE CHALLENGE:
Write a one hundred word story that has a beginning, middle and an end. (No one will be ostracized for going a few words over the count.)
THE KEY:
Make every word count.
This week we have a special picture from a special lady. Our hostess for this wing-dig is the owner of this week’s picture. And, she has/had a very special day this week. It is her birthday week! So from the bottom of my heart I wish Rochelle Wisoff-Fields a most happy birthday!! Hope it is something wonderful!
If any readers want to join us or just read some wonderful flash fiction, click on Rochelle’s name and go have a look. You won’t regret it!
Genre/ Poetry – 100 words (well I’m a terrible poet, so please excuse me. I wanted to try something different. I think I will leave the poetry to the ones that do it so well.) 😉
Memories lovingly tucked away
Each one special in its own way
Dusted each week with care
Some of those memories come in pairs
The shelf itself an antique
The owner’s eclectic taste is magnifique!
From the shells to the tiny little shoe
I think there is a story or two
So everyone take a look
At the heart of a lady who writes books
She is as kind as she is smart
Her words are always an art
Come give her a smile or maybe a hug
It’s her birthday week and she’s cute as a bug!
Hi Jackie, I like your preface to your post…lol…..but you do convey some lovely thoughts in your poem.Is it your birthday week?

i would have had some suggestions about ways to improve this, but when i got to the end, i realized that there is no room for improvement. such a piece of writing, and for such a purpose, will almost always be just right, no matter what.

Well thank you! I did admit I am not a poet, but I wanted to have a little fun this week for Rochelle’s birthday. Otherwise I never touch poetry. 😉

Dear Jackie,
I’m truly touched. And for a self-professed non poet a wonderful experiment. Thank you so very much. I can’t promise I’ll write a poem for you next week. 😉 I’m not quite ready to go that direction.
