It’s Friday! Yea!! It’s also a long weekend here in Canada, as our Thanksgiving is Monday. Turkey anyone?

But for right now it’s Friday and time once again for the magical stories of Friday Fictioneers, hosted by the one and only Rochelle Wisoff-Fields.

If you want to participate in this weekly party just click on Rochelle’s name and you will be taken to her blog where you can read the few rules we follow and how it’s done. Or, if you just want to read some great stories, once again click on Rochelle’s name and scroll down till you meet the little blue critter and click on him and you can read some truly wonderful writing.

Here is this week’s picture followed by my story. Hope you enjoy!

“Mama! Mama! Look I am killing the lions!”

Marie smiled and waved at her young son as he wielded a stick like a sword. She had taken him yesterday to see  L’Amphithéâtre des Trois Gauls. After a brief history lesson, his imagination took over.

She had saved her money from two jobs to take this trip to Lyon.

After her boyfriend left before the boy was born, she had felt like those martyrs of old.

Smiling through her tears at her son, she knew it was all worth it. He would grow up to be a strong man like his ancestors.
