My Characters are Such…..Characters!

I’ve been working on my continuing story, “On The Run”. The story that came out of picture prompts.

Anyway, I’ve been working on the 4th installment for a couple of days now. Yeah, a couple of days of pure stubbornness on the part of my characters! They don’t want to follow directions. They are doing things that they shouldn’t and they are driving me nuts!

Amber wants to be too girly. The old ladies Edith and Myrtle are being fussy. Donnie is being an ass. As for Alesky! Don’t get me started on what a big dummy he is being!

I can NOT get anyone to behave. They just go where they want to with no rhythm or reason. Ugh!!! They thumb their collective noses at me so I have had to take a break. Forgive me. Sigh.

I will keep at them, bug them, snap at them. Maybe I can get the 4th installment done yet today. Maybe not. I am not giving up, but I might have to retreat for now. But I will finish this week! I have to!

Next month I am doing NaNoWriMo and so need to get this done so I can get in the zone for November. Hmm, maybe that’s why Amber and crew are being obnoxious. They don’t want to be left behind. Well they are just going to have to deal because I have a whole different thing I’m going to be working on for NaNo.

I’ll keep you all in the loop, promise. But for now I have some ass to kick.

        1. Oh yeah I”m doing NaNo. You really should do it. Maybe all your poetry? I would buy a book of your poetry. 🙂 I already have my book in my head. Well that’s all I ever do. I’m ready for NaNo. 🙂

          1. Good for you!! I can be your cheer leader 🙂 I also signed up just now…hoping that the arrangements for my project hold and I don’t need to travel anywhere in November. Last year my effort fizzled as soon as I learned I have to make a trip in mid Nov….but I’ll see if I really want to commit. A few days to go…

          3. Great! We’ll be buddies. I am Tiny L. Blog 🙂 but have not yet been able to decide which of my 3 ideas I’ll work on. Have a horrible decision anxiety! Just told my hubby and my son that I’ll participate so now there’s no turning back…

  5. Hahaha! That is sooo funny, Jackie!

    I know exactly what you mean. My NaNo book was completely mapped out last year, but once Susan saw the dead body in the condo, she took over everything. Very few of my original elements remained. My characters were completely out of control.

    I didn’t make them behave. I followed their lead. 🙂

    1. I tried to follow their lead today, but where they took me made no sense whatsoever! I mean, I don’t mind the odd off track scene, but goodness I would have had to write a book from where they were taking me. 😉
