Friday Fictioneers ~~ October 25, 2013

THE CHALLENGE:

Write a one hundred word story that has a beginning, middle and an end. (No one will be ostracized for going a few words over the count.)

THE KEY:

Make every word count.

Thanks for stopping by the Crazy Character House, I mean my blog, for another week of Friday Fictioneers. Hope your week has been a good one. Now on with the show!

Thanks go out to the wonderful hostess on this special bus ride, Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. If you want to read more stories based on the same picture or to perhaps reserve your seat on the Special bus, just click on Rochelle’s name and away you go! Have fun! Be wild and adventurous! Or just sit quietly in your seat with your seat belt fastened.

Genre: Literary fiction (100 words)

“Fred! What have you done?”

“I can’t take it any more Ethel! The constant barrage of bad music coming from the apartment above us is driving me insane!”

“You can’t just take his keyboard Fred! It’s in pieces too!”

“I’m going to bury it in the back yard tonight when everyone is in bed. Maybe for once I can get some rest.”

5 am the next morning, Fred crawls into bed after showering off the dirt from the musical grave outside. Sighing blissfully in the silence he snuggles down.

Wham! Bam! Bam!  Boom! Boom!  Smiling the man upstairs beats on his new drum set.

  2. Dear Jackie,

Fred needs to learn (and I think he just did) that it’s not the arrow, it’s the indian, and next time bury the musician instead of the instrument. Great story. (I did keep waiting for Ricky and Lucy to make an appearance, but that’s just me dating myself, I guess.)

    Aloha,

    Doug

  3. And the keyboard will come back to haunt him. There are ways of handling things, and there are ways of not handling things. I know from bitter experience! Good take on the story and well written. Ann

  4. Ahaha Jackie! I must say I really enjoyed my visit to the Crazy Character House today! I am a huge I Love Lucy fan and isn’t this just something Ricky would do? HA! You’ve got to hand it to Fred for taking the initiative though! 😀
