Please welcome my great guest blogger Liz Casey! Liz is a multi-talented woman with a big heart.
She sent me some of her poetry to post and she is an amazing poet and I’m honored to have her here. In her own words here is a little bit more about this amazing woman. She has been kind enough to send me enough poems to post every Thursday this month. Please give her a warm welcome as only my readers can do! Thank you so much.
Liz Casey:
I’ve been a widely published poet and freelance writer and editor and have appeared in lots of mags and rags across the US. My book-length poetry chapbook, Breaking the Sacred was published in ‘98 by a small press, Angelflesh Press, in Grand Rapids Mich. I currently work full-time as a Sr. Technical Writer, and I run a Motorcycle Touring Company for women, Biker Babe Tours, in Sedona, AZ. I also blog about body issues, size acceptance, self-esteem, and body love at BigBodyBeautiful.
The Stone of Love
pressing my hands against it
the cool rock pressing back
its slow breath
climbing up my arms
its ridges in my skin;
its language decoded
thinking about how you
first grabbed my wrist
one quick movement
that set the world
on end
opened the sun
inside of me
decoded my language
as I slide across the cool
old rock and lay open
to the sky
the stone now
pressing at my back
entering me there
then, you, swimming up and
laughing as you grab
my wrist (again) and pull me
in on top of you.

I enjoy reading, writing, and painting. I love animals and at present have one dog (Sam) and 2 cats (brother and sister, Notwen and Pouncer). I've lived in various places in the USA and now in Canada. I've always enjoyed watching life and people and have developed an appreciation for it all. My outlook is sometimes out of the normal.... but that's what makes things so interesting! I am always interested in the opinions of others. Everyone has their own outlook and it's always worthwhile to listen!
