Share Your World – 2014 Week 11

Hello people! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I know it’s Monday for most of us, but don’t let that get you down. It only lasts 24 hours!

Since it’s Monday, it’s time for Cee’s Share Your World, where Cee asks us four questions and we answer them. Why? Well to get to know each other just a little better. It’s a nice thing, enjoy! Or better yet, come join us!

If you were an ice cream cone how many scoops and flavors would you be and why?

I don’t really care for ice cream cones, so I think I will go with something else. Also, I’m a diabetic, so ice cream is a rare treat, usually reserved for the hottest days of summer. I love frozen yogurt. When it first came out years ago, it was kind of nasty. But now they have improved it a lot. If I can find a place that serves soft serve frozen yogurt, in a dish.  I would be there getting me some. So I guess my answer would be no scoops and vanilla or chocolate. Or both!

Are you left or right handed?

I am right-handed. I can write my name if I have to left-handed, but it’s not the best.

Before making a phone call, do you ever rehearse what you are going to say?

I do it a lot. I hate talking on the phone and avoid it if possible. If I have to call a company about something I practice and I write things down so I don’t forget. Introverts do this a lot. 🙂

How many rings before you answer the phone?

If I have to answer the phone I will let it ring about 3 times. Maybe 4. If I don’t have to answer the phone I don’t answer it. Ha-ha! Oh, and I don’t have voice mail either.  No way to leave a message. Yeah, I’m ancient school. Or cheap. Take your pick.

The reason for no voice mail is simple. I don’t have nor use a smart phone. Land line mostly. I got tired of messages from telemarketers or bots, so when my voice message machine died I never got another one. And have refused to put one on through my phone provider. Eh, if it’s important they will call back. Plus, I have caller ID, if I’m out, I check that when I get back and if someone called whom I want to call back I do, but usually not.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am grateful for good friends, staying in touch with them on here or in emails. I am grateful that the weather seems to be getting warmer so spring can’t be far behind. I am looking forward to even warmer weather and longer days.

  1. Ice cream is an unusual treat for me too. I should probably taste frozen yoghurt again and see how it now tastes! I don’t like “official” phone calls either, but always do it off the cuff when I have to. But so I’m an extrovert 🙂

    1. Yes you are an extrovert, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to do the job you do 🙂 frozen yogurt is much better than it used to be. Even store bought stuff, I still prefer the soft serve kind though.

      1. As the spring progresses here, I think I’ll go to the nearby shopping center (where Bumble goes in the book) and taste some. They have a nice “dispensary” of ice cream and frozen yoghurt 🙂

  2. I have a smartphone and haven’t had voice mail in years. I asked the company to disable the option on my account.

    Froyo sounds good about now.

  3. I am a one scoop ice-cream sort of person. If I had to choose flavours probably strawberry or raspberry. Sadly yoghurt is a bit of a no go these days. I am right handed, left handed if I use two hands like in swinging a bat, do i rehearse phone calls no not really I just work out what I need to say and my phone rings four times and goes to answering which is a pain and I should fix that but I am lazy and as I receive very few calls I haven’t bothered. This week I am grateful that in this vast world and as insignificant as I am in the grand scheme of life, I am loved and I want nothing more than that.
    Have a good day Jackie.

    1. Oh, raspberry is a great flavor Michael. Well you can be lazy now, you are retired. 😉 It’s a nice thing you are grateful for.

  4. I can’t believe it! I thought I was the only phone-hater around, but this week’s Share Your World has opened my eyes 🙂
That cat picture is so funny.

  5. This was fun to read but I must admit, before I could hit the like button, I had to make a 2 mile walk to the yogurt shop and indulge is a small cup of 3 flavors.. I don’t do well with ice cream and only slightly better with yogurt but I was wanting some even yesterday. Your discussion pushed me over the edge. Since I’m an extroverted introvert, I like to let most calls go to voice mail if I think it’s going to be a difficult call. I have a house phone for solicitors that I never answer unless it’s someone I know and want to speak too. My kids will call if I don’t answer my cell. They worry about me falling and being alone. When I didn’t answer the house phone, my daughter drove over to check on me. Won’t let that happen again. I’m right handed too. I am grateful that I got to see a neurologist last week and get to have physical therapy this week for my dizziness. Maybe it will help. 🙂 Found out I couldn’t pass the heel, toe sobriety test. I fall over. What a riot that was. And all that without a drop.

Sometimes we just got to give in to our cravings otherwise they drive us nuts. 🙂
