As always, thank you so much for coming by!
THE CHALLENGE:
Write a one hundred word story that has a beginning, middle and an end. (No one will be ostracized for going a few words over the count.)
THE KEY:
MAKE. EVERY. WORD. COUNT.

Genre: Fantasy (100 words)
“Briar! Where are you Briar?! We must go before we are caught!”
“Shh Fen! We won’t get caught if you are quiet!”
Fen saw Briar shimmer in the sunlight. She was a beautiful fairy but Fen knew they would have to face the fairy council if they were caught.
“I just want to see a human Fen, I have never seen a human before.” Briar pouted and her purple eyes shone with excitement.
Suddenly Fen saw something and shouted to Briar, “Look out!”
Moments later Fen looked at a terrified Briar, “That was close!”
“That stupid human almost stepped on me!”
Great story Jackie, you do have to be careful of those humans and their big feet.

Sounds like there’s a good reason the fairy council doesn’t like them wandering around looking for those big clod-hopping humans!

Your story just made me realize that I never look out for fairies while out walking. Are they only in the woods? I hope so. Right now, all I have to watch for is goose poop and that’s enough work.

Dear Jackie,
This is the kind of fairy story I enjoyed as a child. Another world within a world. Briar had to be beautiful with purple eyes. Sweet, funny and cute. Love it.

briar wanted to see a human, and it was almost the last thing he saw. guess we could say “be careful what you wish for.” that’s for the purple-eyed treat.
