If you could make a 15 second speech to the entire world, what would you say?

Smarten up people! Killing each other is NOT the answer to everything. Try talking, loving, complimenting. We are each our own unique person and that’s all right. That’s the way it should be.

If you could take a photograph, paint a picture or write a story of any place in the world, what and where would it be?

Any place I’ve never been before. Which is a lot of places. Every place has its own beauty, from the desert sands to the rainforest. They all have flora and animals unique to them, as well as people. There are places I’ve always wanted to see, like Australia. But really, I don’t think I could choose just one.

If you had to spend one weekend alone in a single store, but could remove nothing, which store would you pick?

Anyone that reads this blog on any kind of regular basis knows two things about me. My love of coffee and my love of books. I have found a place recently that I would love to visit because of their coffee shop, and just down a bit from it is a fantastic book store! I would have a coffee, sit and savor it, while I watch the goings on inside the cafe. Then I would take  a slow saunter just down the street and visit the bookstore. I’m talking about a place in Cape Town, Africa. It’s called  Truth Coffee.

Exposed metal pipes run across the ceiling, while the cool hangout is littered with ornaments including vintage typewriters, Singer sewing machines and old candlestick telephones

The look of what I read is inspired by the Steampunk craze. Which I love.

Taking pride of place center stage is Professor Jones’s Fabulous Coffee Bean Contraption, an enormous retro-futuristic coffee machine which brings to mind the creations of eccentric inventor Heath Robinson

These are quotes that I took off from a review of the place. You can find it here. Then I would walk down to the bookstore called “The Book Lounge”. It’s an independent bookstore with nightly question and answer sessions and free wine. Now that’s my kind of bookstore!

  1. One of my friends just left Cape Town. She was threatening to stay there and was requesting us to ship her cats to her 🙂

  2. Good answers to good questions! I’ve been visiting a few blogs today and wanting to contribute, but finding myself lacking in inspiration, so I can’t come up with any good answers to them myself, ah well, I will just have to enjoy your answers 🙂

  3. I would write a speech very much like yours. Hanging out in a coffee shop and book store sound like a relaxing night. when I saw the question I couldn’t think of a place. Maybe a mattress store switching beds all night to find the most comfortable mattress maybe.

  4. Loved your 15 second speech. Don’t you just want to slap folks upside the heads and say, “Wake up you fools” ? Don’t know about the second question but the store is a no brainer. Mesa, AZ has a bookstore called “Changing Hands” with direct connection to the “Wildflower Bread Co.” next door with a pass through wall. Coffee, breakfast, sandwiches, salads, sweet treats, I ate 3 meals a day there for 5 days. Had checked into a motel specifically to spend time in the bookstore. They gave me a t-shirt when they found out. 🙂 They had speakers, authors, writing workshops and new and used books. It was heaven. As for the boat, I saw one named “Gratitude”. Sounded good to me.
