Daily Prompt; Snapshot Stories
Open the first photo album you can find — real or virtual, your call — and stop at the first picture of yourself you see there. Tell us the story of that photo.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have no real photo albums anymore. I used to but they are all gone now. Long story there for another time. As for virtual photo albums, I have a lot of photos, but they all are about Sam, my dog, or Notwen and Pouncer, my cats. I only have one photo of me and that’s what I use for my Gravatar photo. It was taken about five years ago by yours truly. Yes, my own kind of selfie. I had a new digital camera, one of those small ones, and so I was playing with it when I took my selfie. No duck face, thank goodness. I never understood that craze!
That’s pretty much the story behind this photo. One day I might take another one just to compare how I’ve aged LOL…or then again maybe not.
I don’t enjoy having my photo taken so there aren’t many around, anywhere. I’m usually behind the camera not in front. I’ve always been this way, camera-shy. So I suppose once I die, I’ll only be a fading memory somewhere. That’s ok. I can live and die with that.
Hello, blue eyes!
I am the same way about pictures, though I have posted some in the last year as part of trying to accept myself. I am not worried if there isn’t a way to see what I looked like a hundred years from now.
I am that way about pictures…and in a hundred years who cares what I look like? unless of course I get famous, eh they can still guess. LOL
Your words will live on. They will never die. The picture is a good picture it shows off your beautiful blue eyes.
Aww thanks Kim. I hope my words live on, that would be much better than an image of me. I like that idea
I agree with Kim, is your words that live on in a hundred years people will still be reading your words and discover your photo and say so that’s what that writer looked like, cute!
Totally understand how you feel about photos. Even when I was half the size I am now I didn’t like photographed. Would you believe I don’t even have a wedding photo? Well, I was married 32 years ago. These days I have softened a bit, and have a couple three photos of myself. I like yours. The way you’re looking up at us makes me smile.
I’m like you Francis, even when I was half the size I am now I didn’t like my photo taken. I’m looking up at pretty much everyone anyway at only 5 ft tall, so this is a pretty natural picture LOL
You inspired me to do a couple of selfies – dare I post one?
Hi Jackie! What a nice surprise to see your gravatar in real life size. 🙂 I’ve always liked this picture of you, and your smile and beautiful blue eyes draw everyone in with your warmth. You can just see it in the picture.
I’m like you. I hate to have my picture taken. There are very few pictures of me anywhere, and I would be hard pressed to find more than a handful in the house. One of these days, I’ll have a proper picture taken, show it, and then all the people who’ve thought my avatar had anything to do with me will fall off their chairs!
I agree with the others – your words will live on.
