Friday Fictioneers ~~ Sept 26, 2014

Yes, I know it’s only Wednesday (some places Thursday). But I will be busy Friday getting a tooth pulled (Ouchy) and so thought I better get this out while I can. Plus, as soon as I saw the picture prompt something came to mind. I thought I better write it down while I still remembered it. (old age sucks LOL)

FF is where around 100 people write a 100 word story based on the same picture. It’s a wonderful way of honing your writing craft or just reading some great writers.

Rochelle is our fearless leader in this shindig. Thank you Rochelle!  Click on Rochelle’s name and it will take you to her blog. That’s where you can read her amazing stories every week, or you can scroll down till you meet the blue critter, click on him and be taken to a land of many stories. Or even better join us!

Genre: Mystery (99 words)

“99 bottles of beer on the wall! 99 bottles of beer!”

Stew and Jem fell on the floor giggling like the fools that they were. Each had a bottle in both hands, gulping from them in turn. The off tune singing slowly fell silent.

Shadows emerged and hefted the two men.

“Eight men so far tonight.”

“Yeah, it’s amazing what you can catch with a few words whispered, an unlocked door and a sleeping potion.”

Stew smiled and belched loudly in his sleep.

“Hope he enjoyed it, cus where he’s going he won’t see another drop.”

“The Master will be pleased.”

  1. Well of course we can speculate as to where they are going and what might become of them. You create an excellent sense of suspense and expectation Jackie, very well done.

  2. This is cool! A Jackie style ending again…I realize I had missed your FFs 🙂 I wish you the least possible “ouch” on Friday, my friend.

  3. Ooh, dark. I wonder if they’re off to be sacrificed, or maybe they’ll be part of the Master’s work force. I’d like to know what happens to them next – I reckon these two “fools” will be the types who keep bungling into and out of danger.

  4. Dear Jackie,

I hope by now the pain’s subsiding from your tooth pull. Just don’t follow Stew and Jem’s example, cause who knows what the Master has planned. Perhaps the Shadow does. .;) Intriguing.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle
