What is your most vivid memory of the kitchen in your childhood?
The most vivid memories of my childhood kitchen is that it didn’t have any counters! It had a walk in pantry, as it had been built in the late 1890’s when they had pantries. So if you wanted to do anything you had to do it on the kitchen table. Everything from the dishes to food items were stored in the pantry. The sink was a big old-fashioned porcelain one, with just enough room to wash the dishes and drain them on the attached drain board that was also porcelain, it was one big sink. I remember having to stand on a stool to wash the dishes. We started young with chores at our house.
As a child, who was your favorite relative?
Oh, this one is easy. It was and still is my Aunt Nene. She was my dad’s youngest sister. I think I wrote about her once before, but I’m too lazy to find the post. LOL She had bright red hair, blue eyes and a mouth worse than any sailor. I love her to pieces. She didn’t take guff from anyone, but she also had a soft heart for a lonely little girl. I’m not sure if she’s still alive as I sadly lost contact with her years ago. I’ve tried to find her, but with no luck. She’d be about 80 or 82 now I think.
What did you or did not like about the first apartment you ever rented?
I enjoyed the freedom of having my first apartment. I shared it with a girlfriend. The thing I hated about the first apartment that I rented is that I had really strange neighbors. Especially one man who lived next door. He always made a point of being outside when we got home from work to say hi, no matter the weather. Snow, rain, shine, he was there.
What kind of TV commercial would you like to make? Describe it.
As I don’t watch TV, I’m not sure. How about if I could get rid of commercials? Now that is one thing I could live with! A commercial about getting rid of commercials LOL
“Ladies and gentlemen! Don’t you wish you could do away with those pesky commercials? The ones that make your children whine for days for those expensive toys that break in one day? Or wouldn’t it be nice that the sound level on your TV stays the same at all times? Without those damn commercials coming on at least 10 notches higher? Now you can! With my super, duper, spray on, you can wipe those commercials right off your screen!’
***very fine print…..am not responsible for damage to any TV screens or relationships during or after the use of this product.****
