You Hoooooo! It’s Me Again! ~~~ Share Your World, Week 46 2014

Hello people!

It’s Monday, so how’s it going for you? For me, it’s cold, but at least the sun is shining and I’m grateful for that.

Cee over at Cee’s photography has once again come up with 4 great questions for us to answer. So, let’s get right to it.

On a vacation what you would require in any place that you sleep

I haven’t taken a vacation in so long I feel like a ‘vacation virgin’ again. LOL But, if I did take one of those mythical vacations, I would need quiet to sleep, no loud noises, no TV, no music. I would also need a fan. I cannot sleep without one, even in the middle of winter I have a fan going in my bedroom. I don’t think it’s just the white noise I need, I need the air moving around me or I feel suffocated. Strange, eh? I also need extra pillows, just one won’t do. Two is ok if they are nice and fluffy, three is perfect. Oh, I also need a night-light. Precious, aren’t I? LOL

Now this looks awesome!
Now this looks awesome!

Music or silence while working?

Well, that depends on what I’m doing. If I’m writing, I need silence. If I’m painting I need music, preferably something upbeat and loud. If I’m doing housework I can listen to just about anything, depends on my mood at the time. I will listen to anything from classical, to rock. I don’t have a job outside the home, so that doesn’t apply to this. When I did work outside the home the places where I worked either had a no music policy, or they had canned music piped in. Yawn!!

If you were to move and your home came fully furnished with everything you ever wanted, list at least three things from your old house you wish to retain?

The first and most important thing would be Sam, my dog. Then I suppose the cats. Next would be my family heirlooms, my mom’s circa 1944 alligator high heels and purse and my 4 ft. Native American doll.  Oh, I would also take all my books. I can’t have a home with books, animals and plants.

My 4 ft Doll.

What’s your least favorite mode of transportation?

Walking. Truth! But only because of arthritis in my knees. I used to love to walk, now it just hurts, even though I do as much as I possibly can. I can’t stand buses either. Be they city buses or Greyhound. Don’t like them. I can’t even remember the last time I used city transportation. I live a bit outside the city, so I would have to walk at least a mile to the closest bus stop.

Thanks again Cee for the great questions!

  1. My goodness, Jackie, you started cracking me up with the title! As soon as I read it I started laughing. I know for a fact we could share that hotel room. I have lift off at 34 degrees outside with my fan in my room. It has been discovered that of the 4 children in my family of origin, we all sleep with fans, all the time. Year round. I need the air to move too. Funny but I think it’s the claustrophobia. Not so many pillows though. Your doll is really beautiful. What a keepsake. I’m with you on the books too. That’s why I decided not to move out of the country. Shipping my books would have been too costly. And like you, things that stir memories of someone we loved. I have all my mother’s needlework. She was a piece of work but for some darn reason, I miss her. Guess if she’d been better at her job, I wouldn’t have been so good at mine. 🙂 Hope you had a good weekend. I wish you could take a vacation but know that’s not possible right now. Maybe soon.

    1. Glad I could give you a laugh! LOL You could be right about the claustrophobia being the cause of using the fan. I hate small enclosed spaces. My grandmother did a lot of needlework, my mother was and is not crafty lol My weekend was quiet, so that was good. I wish I could take a vacation too, I sure need one. 😉
Have a wonderful week Marlene, hugs.

  2. When it comes to beds, I do like a lot of pillows and blankets.

I love your list of what you would bring to the new house 🙂
