Talkin’ About Me, Again! ~~~ Share Your World, Week 50

Yes, it’s me again! It’s that time of the week where you learn more about…..ME!

Hey! I gave you last week off! What more do you want? 😉

So this week’s questions are courtesy of Dawn over at The Day After Blog. Cee enjoyed her questions and included them in this week’s edition of Share Your World. Thanks Dawn and Cee!

Do you have a signature dish? If not, is there one in your family?

I’m famous (ha!) for my potato salad. I make the best one that I know of. I have a secret ingredient that makes it special. (NO! Not that! WTH people!) I can’t of course tell you what it is, because, well like I said, it’s a secret. It makes my potato salad taste just a bit better than most. Anytime we had a family get together I was asked to bring my potato salad.

Do you have a favorite board game?

I was never one for board games, even when I was a child. Card games were our thing. We would play Cribbage, poker, hearts, etc.

Is there a household chore that you enjoy?

Well, it’s a ‘chore’ and that usually doesn’t mean it’s something you enjoy. But, if there is something I like to do as far as household things are concerned, besides cooking, I would have to say, laundry. There is something comforting about the smell of clean clothes, towels, sheets. I love the feel and smell of clean laundry.

What is one thing you will never care about?

Now this one is a great question. Made me think. The only thing I can come up with is, I would never care about another person’s skin color, religion preferences, bank balance. It’s what a person is like inside that counts with me. I’ve known millionaires and street people. If they have good hearts, it shows, no matter what else they have going on in their world.

So there you have it. Another peek inside my mind. Whoa, scary eh?

  1. I was going to say the secret ingredient was potatoes. Who knew that would be such a naughty response?

  2. I was going to say real potatoes not the instant kind….lol…….I have a good potato salad too, its all in the mayo you use. A chore would be collecting the dead cockroaches each morning, I have a sense that my house is now minus a few, though in the back of my mind I know there are another million waiting their chance to get in.

    1. Instant potatoes in potato salad??? I mean, I know you come from down under Michael, but that’s just too bizarre even for you! LOL
As for cockroaches, they are everywhere! I hate those things. ugh.

  3. That photo you used for the laundry is adorable. That being said, my favorite chore is not laundry, but cleaning the bathroom sink…I can make it all shiny, I have a secret too… 😉

      1. Okay…when you are done cleaning the sink, use a bit of glass cleaner…sparkles it right up. I learned that during my days as a maid. 🙂

  4. I love your answer to the 4th question!! The inside always shows outside, no exceptions… As to the chores, I can’t honestly say I like any of them apart from cooking so I procrastinate with everything else 🙂

  5. Thank you for this peek into the life of you. 🙂 Now, can you come over and do all the cooking for my Christmas dinner? I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones, Jackie! Feliz Navidad!

  6. NoW i know where the potato salad genes went. I can’t make potato salad if I tried. Mine always comes out tasting just wrong. No one wants to eat it starting with me. I’ve given up.

I like doing laundry, especially the part where the hot clothes come out of the dryer in the winter months, that’s something i will miss now that i have decided not to get a dryer. I like doing dishes too. i tell my self I dread doing them yet once i start I love the process. Plus it’s the one time my boys ran from me so I had the kitchen to myself. They feared I’d ask them to help.

Merry Christmas, Jackie, enjoy it any way you see fit.

    1. I do make a good potato salad. It’s easy peasy. I shall tell you how one day and you will surprise everyone!

There is something relaxing about doing laundry. Once I get into doing the dishes, it’s not so bad. Especially in winter as it warms up my hands lol.

Merry Christmas, Lois. Sending light and love your way my friend!

  7. Imagine that your family and friends ask you to make the potato salad. They ask me too. If we lived close we would have to have a taste off. I have no secret ingredients I attribute mine to the way I cut and distribute my ingredients. 🙂 Love the answer to the final question. Not caring about a persons’ skin color, beliefs is an excellent thing not to care about.

    1. Oh, a potato salad taste off! All right! 🙂 We’d both win, Kim, it would be a tie.
I’ve never cared about a persons skin color, beliefs or whatever, I just care about if they are good people. 🙂

  8. I’m glad I didn’t miss this post entirely. Catching up here. I wonder if your secret ingredient is mustard? I’m an odd duck in that I like most household chores except cooking. I’m no good at it. Broken taste buds. I’m with you. See right into the heart of a person and that’s all that matters. Loved your photo of laundry. For me ironing was always meditative as well as dishes. I like the smell of clean laundry too. Think I’ll go do some now. 🙂 Hang in there kiddo.

    1. I do put mustard in my potato salad, but, it’s not the ‘secret’ ingredient! Good guess though Marlene.

I don’t iron anymore, but I do love clean laundry. I’m hanging in as much as I can my friend. 🙂
