I’ve Got To Be Me ~~~ Share Your World, Week 4, 2015

Hello people! I do hope all those in the wake of Storm Juno are doing well today. Did that storm actually do anything? How’s things by all of you?

This week is another question and answer session made possible by Cee, of Cee’s Photography. Why not pay her a visit and say hi! Also, check out her awesome photos.

Where did you live at age five?  Is it the same place or town you live now?

I lived in a haunted house in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was an interesting house to live in. No, I don’t live there now and haven’t for many years. I haven’t even lived in Wisconsin for many years. I’ve traveled around quite a bit since I was 5 years old.

You are invited to a party that will be attended by many fascinating people you never met.  Would you attend this party if you were to go by yourself?

I would like to think I would take the opportunity presented to me. But, knowing myself as I do, I probably wouldn’t go. I don’t enjoy parties or any large gatherings. The introvert in me. I feel out-of-place and awkward.

Did you grow up in a small or big town? Did you like it?

I grew up in the biggest city in Wisconsin. No, I didn’t enjoy it and got out as soon as I was able to. I’ve also lived in Ft. Worth, Texas, another large city, and no didn’t enjoy that either. I have most enjoyed living in smaller towns. Like now, where I live in Canada is a place that is just the right size. Big enough to have the conveniences that I enjoy, but still retain that small town flavor. The people here are friendly and outgoing. I like it here, except for the winters. Can’t have everything I guess!

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I had always wanted to join the Navy and have a military career. That was nixed with my hearing problems. So because of my great love for reading, I decided I wanted to become a writer of great books. I’m still working on that dream. 🙂

Other than that I was always open to possibilities. You just never know what’s around the corner.

What did you think you wanted to be when you were a kid? Did you become that?

  1. Cute house, one would never guess by looking that it was haunted. I remember you telling about it being haunted in another post. You are doing a very good job working on the writing I must say sweet Jackie. Wishing for you the success you want with your writing. Don’t give up. Hugs

  2. If it was a party where something was going on – some activities like horseback riding or roller skating, it would be easier to go. Less stressful than the stand around talking kind…I always say something odd. Doing stuff gives you props and stuff in common to talk about.
I’m ready for a small town in the mountains – I’d say shore would be OK, too, but hurricane preps are tiring and more difficult as you get older. Big cities are less attractive even with lots to go do – you can’t walk safely anymore, can’t see the sky.

  3. That house looks like one I would pick during my younger days. Now there are too many stairs. Haunted would send me looking for a way out too but a ghost couldn’t hold a candle to the horrors of my family.

I was surprised at the military career idea. Too bad it didn’t work for you. But I can tell you that you ARE a writer. You just don’t know it yet. I’m sure it will come to complete fruition soon.

    1. Thank you Marlene. Yes, the house would have too many stairs for me now too. I liked the ghost, not so much my family. Well, a military career was not to be, so I think I’ll stick with writing.

  4. That’s such a cute looking house though!

I wanted to be a chemist for a pharmaceutical company when I was younger. Or an artist. Right now, I am pretty far from either one!

  5. The house look like a doll house, almost. One wouldn’t think it was haunted, but I remember you writing about it earlier. The military career was a surprise at first, but then I thought how strong a person you are, and it all fell into place. The writer dream will come true, you can make it happen, my friend! Hugs!

    1. As long as you remember the address or close to, sure you can. Took me a bit, but I found it. I was surprised it was still standing. As it’s pretty old.

  6. I wanted to be a hairdresser and yes I did. I attended a vocational high school and was able to take my state boards before I graduated. I then moved to California and took more classes getting my state license there as well. Unfortunately, it wasn’t long before the chemicals and water on my skin all day every day forced me out.
