Silly Sunday ~~~ 50 Shades of Grey Edition

Hello people!

Now you know I just had to do this Silly Sunday Edition about the movie and book everyone is talking about. That’s right, 50 Shades of Grey!

Have you read the book or watched the movie? I have done neither I must admit. I don’t see it happening at any time. So I decided this will be my one and only nod to the story that seems to be on everyone’s mind.

It’s only meant in fun people. Really………..

    1. I’ve read a lot of reviews. Some bad, some good for the film. I think it all comes from personal taste and whether you want to be a sheep and follow what others think is popular. Or, make you own mind up and just say no.

  1. I read the book to mock it. M saw it and said something about that’s the book all the girls at school were reading. Great. Now they think it’s literature :-\

It’s like whatshername is the new, subpar VC Andrews.

    1. These young girls, and mature women would not think this is so sexy, if they were ever in a relationship where the man actually acts this way. I’ve been there, it’s not sexy, fun or a turnon. It’s control. Pure and simple. And they need to know, it does NOT end well. Only in the movies and books.

  2. I made it to about page 30 in the first book and chucked it. The “hero” was a scumbag with zero redeemable qualities. Pure and utter garbage. It was originally written as Twilight fan fiction.

    1. from the excerpts I have read, I just am not interested. The writing was bad from what I had read also. That is a big turn off too. I never read any of the twilight books either nor seen those movies. Guess I’m just not with the trends. 🙂

  3. I would never read the book or see the movie. I read some excerpts when it was high on Amazon’s lists…And it was utter garbage. Badly written and sloppily edited. Very unfortunate sex education for the young, exactly for the reasons you give in one of your responses. Hope your weekend was good, hugs!

    1. Exactly tiny! If the excerpts were that bad, can you imagine how bad the rest of the book was?

My weekend was quiet. Which is good. Hope you had a good weekend also. Hugs!

  4. I’m not sure where you come up with those comics but they are a great way to start my Monday morning. Maybe it’s because I’m old that I don’t want to read the books or watch the movie. Or maybe like you, I understand that kind of control is not love or sexy. Not my cup of tea but someone must like it. They’ve made a ton of money on the dominance we’ve been struggling against for so long. Odd isn’t it? Thanks for the sillies.

    1. I think in today’s times, people are trying to find romance everywhere. Unfortunately they are looking in all the wrong places. It is odd. And just a bit scary.

  5. I haven’t read it or seen it. I don’t have any particular desire to, but I may watch it at some point if it comes on Netflix, only because when something is talked about so much, I just get curious and want to see what it is that everyone is talking so much about. Usually the more hyped up something is, the more disappointing it is, so I’m not expecting much from it, although that might work the opposite way now, because that means I’m not expecting it to be good and therefore it might be better than my expectations. I’m confusing myself now…
