Monday Meeting and an Announcment!

Monday Meeting

Good day, People! I hope your weekend was wonderful and you got some fun in.

Welcome to my new Monday Meeting posts. I had my first one last Monday, as I just can’t seem to get a post done on the weekend for the #coffeeshare thing. It’s easier for me this way, so here I am with my second one. I do hope you enjoy these meetings. Have one of your own if you like! Just let me know and link up! I would love to read yours.

Come on in, sit down, have your favorite drink and maybe a cupcake. I’ll forgo the cupcake myself, but I do enjoy seeing my guests enjoy themselves.

Let’s get this meeting started.

August is over with already. It just seems like it only started a few days ago. Time is moving by way too fast. In a couple of weeks, my birthday will be here. I’ll have a special post on that day as I will be reaching a milestone birthday! So mark your calendars for September 12th. It’s a Saturday and I’m sure you all are super busy on weekends, but I do hope you will stop in for a quick peek and to say hi! Join my birthday party! Likely the only one I will have. Sad, eh? 😉

Some of you have inquired on how the husband is doing lately. I really need to do a new post on that, but for now I will let you know here. He has his good days and his bad days. The new medicine for depression is taking a while kicking in. The doctor reassured us this is normal. He’s on Zoloft right now. This might change once he sees a therapist. He’s had one meeting with the mental health clinic a couple of weeks ago. He was supposed to hear from them for an appointment to see a regular therapist, but this hasn’t happened yet. So we wait. He’s been having a lot of problems going to sleep at night and then staying asleep even though he takes two sleeping pills. The new doctor put him on another pill and we’ll see if that works better.

The other day he didn’t get out of bed all day. Nothing would induce him to, so I let him be. It’s worrisome though, as the more he lays in bed, the worse the arthritis gets. I understand he hurts, but  he needs to understand that NOT moving makes it worse. But, I’m not going to nag him about it. I just keep doing what I can. That’s all I can do.

The other news I have is very exciting! I’ve been waiting months to say this…

I’m published on Amazon!

Yes, finally, The Canine Caper is finished, formatted and published on Amazon! Also, A Case of Deceit is ready for pre-order! The Canine Caper is a short story, so I’m not going to be doing a paperback version of it. A Case of Deceit, which is a full-length book, will also be available in paperback at the end of October. So, for the book A Case of Deceit, on October 30th it will be available in both e-reader and paperback form.

So many of you have followed my journey to publishing from the very beginning and I thank you for that. Now, my dream is realized. I’m so happy!

Here are the links for both books on Amazon for the US;

I am going to try to have a sale my birthday weekend on The Canine Caper. So if you want you can wait….but who wants to wait. 🙂

Sometime today I hope to have buttons on my sidebar that you can click that will take you to the Amazon book sites.

For now, I need to get back to my edits! Thank you for coming to the Monday Meeting and I’ll see you soon!

(If anyone wants to be kind enough to spread the word out about the books, I would be so grateful!)

  1. Awesome news on the publication! 😀

Zoloft does take a bit to build up but most of those types of meds do.

      1. Matthew was on it and at a month they increased his dosage. He went from depressed to “eh” with that first month, so the increase brought him up to “good”. So, it may just be coming up to that point to evaluate taking more or not.

  2. Many congratulations on Canine Capers. I’ll look it up on Amazon uk and post a link on facebook. I am always excited every time I publish a book and even though one of mine is a novella, I still did it in paperback because I love to be able to see my books in actuality – and give them as gifts to friends. I wish you lots of success. xxx

    1. Thank you Jeanette! I’m super excited, but it really is only a short story, to introduce my characters, less than 7000 words. That’s why I decided against paperback, but I might change my mind one day. 🙂 xx

  3. Congratulations on the books-that’s amazing!! I also want to wish you a very Happy early birthday. Thought having a Monday post was a neat idea. With Monday being what it is, it felt like a nice change of pace. Take Care!

  4. I’m having my Monday meeting on Tuesday. At least it’s in the same week. I am so happy for your news. I knew it would happen. Now if just enough people buy the books to give you some breathing room. I have my fingers crossed. I’ll work on a blog about it as soon as my eye heals and I can see again. Knock em dead girl. Sorry about the husband. I did all those anti’s too. Worked awhile. Then not so much. Moving and going worked better. I think I work so hard to outrun the depression. So far, so good. Lots of funny helps too. Hang in there. Hugs.

    1. What’s going on with your eye?? You need to take care of yourself! Do as I say not as I do, as my mother used to tell us. 🙂 Thank you for always cheering for me Marlene. It means a lot. I keep telling the husband to keep moving. That’s the thing about arthritis, you stop moving, you can’t anymore. But, he never would listen to me, so I just keep on going myself. That’s all I can do. Hugs!

      1. It’s a man thing. That’s why I’m so done with them. Movement is essential to depression even more than arthritis. It’s not your job to make him want to be in the world. It’s his. I have to take care of my own damn self is my motto. Getting an eyelid lift today so I can see a bit more, we hope. It’s the paralyzed eye that won’t open all the way by itself. No big deal, just couch time. I have a book to listen to while the swelling goes down.

  5. Congratulations, Jackie. I already bought The Canine Caper and pre-ordered A Case of Deceit. This is so exciting! Your next book is due out October 30 … I bet you can have another written and ready for editing by then. 😉 Get crackin’, and you’ll have four available by Christmas! (Do as I say, not as I do. I’ll be lucky to get the one I’ve been working on all year finished next month.) I know you can do it!! xoxoxo

Thank you for buying the books! I appreciate it. I have the next book pretty much outlined in my head of course. LOL But, I still need to do some final edits on the Deceit story first. You get crackin’ lady! Get that next book out! 😉 I know you’ve been super busy…. xoxoxox

  6. Hey, Jackie, Congratulations. I bought The Canine Caper, hope your sales go through the roof.

Sorry to hear things are still up and down with the hubby. It’s so much easier for us as bystanders to see what would help them, like getting up, but they can’t see it. Just know there is nothing you can do to change that.

    1. Thank you Lois! I hope my sales go through the roof too! So far, they are up to the floor. 😉 I know there is nothing I can do for the husband, it’s just my nature to try. Thanks again.
