Share Your World ~~ March 20, 2017

Last week for one reason or another I didn’t post much. Sorry about that. Life has a way of getting in the way of pleasure sometimes. I’ll have to do one of my catching up posts to update you on things in my part of the world. I have some (maybe) good news about the husband. So, stay tuned for that!

For today, I’m posting Cee’s Share Your World questions for this week. Thanks Cee for helping me with a blog post. 🙂

Today’s questions and answers are:

How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

Some days I definitely feel my years. Others, hmm, maybe thirty, or forty? Now some of you might think…wow…that’s not that young of an age. It is when you are actually twice that. Ha! My mind is forever young, my body…not so much.

So, you’re on your way out and it’s raining. Do you know where your umbrella is or do you frantically search for it all over your apartment/house?

People actually own an umbrella? I love the rain. The feel of it on my face. I don’t really remember when I did own an umbrella. I don’t remember the last time I saw someone use one either. I don’t think they are as popular as they used to be.

Do you recharge your energy by going out with friends for a good time or by spending it with quiet time alone?

Oh, I must have my alone time. I would prefer it in the woods surrounded by nature but that’s not going to happen anytime soon. So I find it in my office or ‘writing room’ when I actually do any writing. I love the sound of silence.

Name three things you and your spouse, partner or best friend have in common.

I actually laughed at this one because I began thinking what my husband and I have in common…..and came up with nothing. Really, opposites must attract with us because we are not alike at all. So, I had to look at my bestie and me. We both have the same sense of humor (weird), we both love to write and read and we both are very honest with each other. If we don’t hear from each other in weeks, it’s ok. We communicate like time never passed. In fact we often times marvel at how similar our lives are. It helps in the understanding of each other.

That’s it for today, folks. Short and sweet. Hows things going with you? Let me know!

  1. 🙂 I feel just like you do about my best friend!! 🙂

And I agree with you on age if I didn’t know how old I was. However, I continually act like I’m twelve.

I own and use an umbrella!! I even grab it when I take the dog out. I hate running through Walmart’s parking lot – with a shopping cart full of groceries – during a downpour. With an umbrella, I can go slower.

  2. Hi Jackie! Hope you’re ok. I don’t like umbrellas, I think they’re just awkward, it’s something else to carry, plus if you’re trying to walk though a crowded place, they’re a nightmare, and then what do you do with them when you get inside? You have to find somewhere to open them out to let them dry. While I agree that feeling the rain can be nice, if I’m on my way to a social event, or a work meeting or something I don’t want to turn up looking like a drowned rat. So instead I prefer a hooded coat. My winter coat has a hood I can pull over if it rains, and for the summer I carry round a thin light packaway type rain coat with a hood that I can pull on if needed. Far less cumbersome that an umbrella.

    1. Hi Vanessa! All that you say is true. I can understand not wanting to feel like a drowned rat. I used to have a poncho rain coat like you described years ago. Kept you dry then folded away when you don’t need it. Much more convenient than an umbrella.

  3. I hope that maybe changes to an actual yes on the good news about your husband.

As a child I had an umbrella to use walking to school on rainy mornings. I hated it. One day the wind was so strong it caught the umbrella and almost knocked me over. I let go of it to save falling myself and decided to let the wind carry it off so I wouldn’t be made to use it again. A few years ago I found an umbrella and took it home. Sitting in a soaked chair is uncomfortable so I now have to carry an umbrella.

  4. I love the alone time too, and I need it. And I recently pondered about my age…and came to the conclusion that inside I feel like I’m somewhere in my late thirties or early forties, while the number says something else, and an older woman looks at me in the mirror 🙂 It’s interesting. I hope to hear good news about husband. Many hugs ❤

    1. I need my alone time also and treasure it when I get it. Age….really is just a number I’ve come to understand. That and grey hair is something to be proud of….we’ve earned it. lol Big hugs my friend! ❤

  5. Great answers, Jackie. I’m late again. I have an umbrella for people that want one. I prefer a jacket with a hood so my hands are free to use the cane. I’m 108 most days and maybe still in my 50’s in my mind on a good day. Like you, I need quiet time. It costs a lot of energy to be out among them, but it is necessary so I try to limit it. I’m hoping for really good news on the husband front. Looks like my ex is getting out of the hospital and they are putting in a trach and sending him to respiratory rehab. That’s good news if you were wondering. He’s still alive. For now.

    1. You are never late, Marlene. 😉 Hm, I don’t even have a jacket with a hood. I just don’t go out much in the rain. lol Glad your ex is doing better. Big hugs!
