Once again here I am with Cee’s Share Your World! Did you miss me? 😉
This week’s questions are:
What is something that people are obsessed with but you just don’t get the point of?
Selfies. Really. Do you not remember what you look like? If so just look in a mirror! Good grief.
What quirky things do people do where you are from?
Hm, I’m FROM Wisconsin but now live in Canada so which place to choose? Actually, Wisconsin and the part of Canada I’m living in now is not that much different. The people are nice. They drink beer a lot. They love cheese. There are a bunch of rednecks. They love their pickup trucks. They all think any weather over 35 degrees is shorts time. As for quirky? Hell if I know. Maybe I’m the quirky one. LOL
What are some things you wish you could unlearn?
Not to criticize myself so much. I learned how to do this at a very young age as people around me were always quick to criticize.
Who is someone that you miss having in your life?
My mom and dad mostly. They weren’t perfect but I loved them and I miss them every day. Also, my Aunt Nene. I haven’t heard from her in years and suspect she passed away. I may have to do some research to find out for sure. She would be in her 80’s now. She was my favorite relative.
There you have it. See you next week unless you hear from me sooner.
I obviously can’t speak for everyone, but I know that for me the selfies I take aren’t for me at all. Pretty much all my friends and family live far away and the only person who sees me on a daily basis is my husband. So the selfies I take are to share so that my friends and family get a chance to see my face. 🙂 I don’t take selfies super often though.

I can understand that. I was mostly meaning the ones who take selfie after selfie for no apparent reason. 🙂

I agree, not to criticize myself so much. I don’t like selfies either. The way I look at it, extroverts like to see themselves in photos and introverts don’t get in front of a camera. 😀

so true Cee. I hate to get in front of the camera. Always have. So, there are very few pictures of me floating around. 🙂

Interesting questions and great answers. It’s taking me forever to get a post read and comments made these days. How to expand time is what I want the answer to. I’m not a fan of selfies or photos of me. On rare occasion do I allow the photo. My son took one this week he wants me to put on my post. I’ll give it some thought since I put some of him in there. 🙂 We were all taught to be self critical in our generation, I think. I’m working on that too. Who do I miss, That would be a very good question I’m not sure I have an answer for. I think you were very close to your dad. Hope you are doing ok. Still miss your stories. Hows the hubby doing these days?

Hi, Marlene. How to expand time. Now a lot of people would love to learn how to do that. 😉
I was very close to my dad. As close as he would let me be anyway. He was a very quiet and private man. I think only my mom knew him well. I’m ok, just having a few health issues. The husband is doing as well as he can. Having warm weather always helps. Winters can be harsh. As for writing, I’m actually working on a short story I may put on the blog shortly. Dipping my toes back into it so to speak. 🙂 big hugs my friend.

As they say on Family Feud, “Good answer, good answer!”
Cincinnati has it’s quirky things … here are two … saying “Please” as in huh, what did you say, repeat that. …. and Cincinnati Chili is definitely a local dish that is only here, and definitely not what most people think of as chili.

I’m with you on the selfies but also the conversion of rooms into closets to house all their clothes and shoes and on that subject storage units. Talk about a self-obsessed culture we find ourselves in.

I don’t fill the closets I have now! LOL I don’t own many clothes. I replace as necessary, same for shoes.

Nope, me either. If I had the money and the room I would convert a room into a library/studio. LOL

When I was younger I dreamed of having my own library in my house, carried that dream for many years into adulthood when I realized I didn’t need a room because I had books in every room of my home.
