I Am Who I Am

Welcome to my blog. This is where you will find the DeeDee Watson, PI, series author. That’s me!

This blog is a mixture of writing about writing, just having fun with words, things that strike my funny bone and a bit of personal stuff as well. It’s all here.

I’ve had this blog for about five years now. It’s evolved a lot since I posted that first post. You can see how my writing career has become a reality and grown through those five years. I went from someone who didn’t have anything of note published to two (so far) books published. The idea of the Dee and Tee books started out as a challenge from the April A – Z Β challenge. Those daily chapters turned out to be ‘The Canine Caper’, (after tons of editing) which is a novella that introduces DeeDee Watson and her furry sidekick Tee the dog. Along with a wide cast of other characters, Dee and Tee are a crime-fighting duo who outwit the bad guys.

Of course, it’s not all fun and games and Dee and Tee manage to get themselves into some deep trouble here and there. Which they do in the next full-length book, ‘A Case of Deceit’. But, enough about them for now. If you landed on this page it’s because you are curious about me, the author of this blog. So here is a brief biography……

I live in Canada but am originally from the states. I was born and raised in Wisconsin and spent more than twenty years in Texas. I’ve always loved to read and write stories. If my head wasn’t buried in a book reading, it was buried in notebooks, writing. I have a fascination with the written word. I’ve always wanted to write a book and now that I have, I’m more in love with books than ever. So for now, I live in Alberta, Canada with the husband, two cats and my own furry dog sidekick, Sam.

I am currently working on two more novels. The third in the Dee and Tee series, ‘The Murder in Cabin 22C’ and a new stand-alone novel, ‘Smoke Tendrils’ that will be quite a bit different but still full of suspense.

So much to do, so little time. If you want to contact me just drop me an email from my contact page. Or drop me a comment here!

Now, Dee and Tee seem to be in trouble again, so if you’ll excuse me………

      1. Och I didnae explain in detail..the reason the wee wifie gave fer walkin’ oot the door wis tha’ Ah wis a dreamer, ye see…so its lovely tae see it in positive terms..aye, even therapeutic! Hee hee!

        1. haha! There’s that accent again! ah yes, I have been accused of being a dreamer as if it was a bad thing also. I think that is the ying/yang of life, some of us are dreamers while other are not. Truthfully, give me a dreamer anytime. They take you on journeys that never would happen otherwise.

  1. Hi Jackie,
Just passing and letting you know I’m going to follow you on this Blog and not your other one….This one suits me more, the other suits my good lady wife. πŸ˜‰

    1. Glad you have you or the wife at either blog. To be honest I’m partial to my writing blog myself. I love the food blog, but writing is where my heart is. πŸ™‚

  2. Greetings from Australia,
There is nothing wrong with dreaming. As a deep thinking individual I often ponder at many levels with a childlike innocence yet tempered with age old wisdom. It takes many hours of pensive thinking, surrounded by beautiful nature to be at peace. And when the right moment arrives, I love to write my experience down, which are nothing but the creative outlet of an imaginative mind. “To breathe is to write” is a beautiful quote. All the best with your writing.
    God bless

    1. Thank you Richard. Yes I’m excited about the hop. I didn’t have time to post something for this Sunday and get it right. So I thought next Sunday for sure. I”m looking forward to it! πŸ™‚

  3. Hi, Jackie: Thanks for your nice comment of the cover of my upcoming mystery novel. I appreciate it! I’m still trying to figure out how to “like” or “friend” people from my Facebook author’s page; it doesn’t work like a personal page. Any ideas? –Michael Helms

    1. Hi there! As far as I know a business page like our author pages does not allow us to ‘friend’ someone. You should be able to ‘like’ it though. I believe you all ready have from linkedIn. I have two facebook accounts. One is my ‘author’ page which won’t allow me to ‘friend’ someone. Then the other is my regular kind of facebook which does allow ‘friends’. That is the main reason I have two accounts. Hope this helps Michael.

  7. Hi Jackie! I’ve seen you on so many blogs I follow and always enjoy your comments so I thought I’d stop by. I’m also thinking of doing Friday Fictioneers, but I have to admit fiction is not my strong suit. But it could be fun! I look forward to following!

    1. Hi Deanna! Welcome and thank you! Friday Fictioneers is a great thing to do whether you write fiction or not. It helps tighten up your writing which can only help in whatever genre you write in. So please give it a try. We are a bunch of nice helpful writers and always welcoming. I will be by some time today to check your blog out. Again thank you!
