I do hope everyone’s weekend is going well. Have fun and be safe!
Today I wanted to do a new Sam and Me cartoon but my old place of doing the cartoons shutdown. So sad as I really liked using them. So I found a new place to make my cartoons. Let me know what you think!
As you can see, Sam, me and the cat look a bit different on this cartoon than the old one. What do you think? Better? Worse? Not too bad?
Hello, people! It’s been a long time since I did a Sam and Me comic, so I thought I would do one today.
As many of you know, I won a dog house built by Damon Bennett of the DIY network on tv! Well, a few weeks ago (actually more like last month) I got some help in getting it in the backyard.
It weights about 500 lbs and is almost five feet tall at its peak. Well, needless to say, Sam is not exactly thrilled with it. Can you say ‘spoiled’? haha! I have to admit, I knew Sam wouldn’t go in it much as he’s strictly an inside dog. So it was fun to make a little comic about it. Hope you enjoy!
This is what the dog house looks like in real life.
I hope you had a great Christmas and now we are fast approaching New Year’s! Anyone have plans for New Year’s eve or day?
Here’s a Sam and Me comic about how pets enjoy the wrapping that gifts come in much more than then the toys themselves. Hope you enjoy it!
I do hope your weekend has gone well. With our crazy weather, we’ve been having recently (last week snow, today it’s 14C/58F), I’ve decided to do a Sam and Me comic about it. I haven’t done one in a while so why not….
How’s the weather where you are at?
Today’s post is courtesy of Sam! My little buddy is bored with his Mom. He says we don’t play anymore, we don’t go sit outside, we don’t do anything! LOL
I’ve been busy working on the last chapter of ‘The ABC’s of Death’. I should have it posted within the next day or so. Exciting! It’s been two and a half months of me writing almost exclusively for this story. Now it’s nearing the end…of the story, not my characters.
I have a rough outline for the next Dee and Tee adventure! That will be revealed soon. I’m also in the middle of edits on ‘The Man in the Fedora’. I have re-named it for publishing. I am also in the middle of having a new book cover done. Soon to be ready, I hope!
But…I will let you in on the new title to the story! It’s going to be called…are you ready…you sure???? It’s going to be called…‘The Canine Caper’.
What do you think? Let me know!
In the meantime, poor Sam is bored with me hunched over the old keyboard all day, every day. Poor thing. I will have to get him a new toy soon. Maybe he will forgive me. Maybe.
Good day people!
The week is almost over! Soon it will be the middle of March already! How time flies when you don’t want it to!
I do hope you enjoy my new Sam and Me comic. March has come into my area of Alberta Canada like a passive aggressive cow that’s jealous of the lambs and lions of March. The wind! The wind!
It has been pretty windy over in these parts. Today is the first day in a long while that the wind isn’t blowing poor Sam right off the porch. If he really could fly like in my comic, I think he would enjoy it more. 🙂
I’ve been busy around here. I know you haven’t seen me around as much, but I promise it’s for a good reason. I’ve been working on the final chapter(s) of “Man in the Fedora.” Also, in April I am doing the A to Z Challenge. I think you will enjoy what I have planned for that. Stay tuned, as March 23rd is the A to Z Challenge theme reveal. My project might be a bit ambitious so I do hope we are all up to it! Or at least I hope I am!
Today’s edition of ‘Sam and Me’ is for Evil Squirrels Second Annual Contest of Whatever!
ES says that the theme this year is games.
. The theme this year is games. I want some form of a game to be involved in your creation. Anything that involves competition between two or more participants is allowed… board games, sports, multiplayer video games, children’s activities… etc.
It also must have at least 2 different species of animals. So I thought who better than my world-famous Sam! Of course, I had to add that devilish duo The Cats, Notwen and Pouncer. They are always trying to outmaneuver each other. Silly things.
Hope this counts as a game ES!
(I also hope I win!!) 😉
Merry Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, depending on which half of the world you are in. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday.
Here in my world, it’s only Christmas Eve, but me and Sam and the two cats want to wish you the best holiday season!

Also, I want to say a big warm thank you to all of you who participated in The Great Christmas Card Exchange! It’s been so gratifying to see how many of you appreciate the real paper cards. I enjoyed it so much! There was only one mishap where a card was returned, but it will be straightened out after Christmas. So I call that a big WIN!
Here is a picture of my door of holiday cheer! Big Christmas hugs to all of you! I’ve had a big smile on my face for days now when I see all the outpouring of love and affection in each card I received. I do so hope you all felt the same when you got mine! Because it was in every word I wrote! Hope to see all of you and many more next year! May light and love be yours from my house to yours!
What’s the most favorite part of Christmas for you?
Hello People! I hope everyone is having a great day today!
I couldn’t think of anything to write about today. My mind was a complete blank. (Hush those that are laughing!) So, I did what any self-respecting blogger would do. I went looking for a prompt! I found one over at Mark’s. (Mark Bialczak) He put up a list for all us on Team Pepper last month, it’s full of different prompts. So thanks Mark! It’s just what I needed today! Whew, I sure am glad I have other bloggers to save my butt on days like this.
This is the prompt:
Finish this sentence: Sometimes, when I wake up in the morning, I want to ___________. Now use that sentence to start your post. Extra points if your post is more than 500 words long.
Feeling the way I did this morning, here is my story, finishing the sentence.
Sometimes, when I wake up in the morning, I want to pack my bags and leave for a warmer climate! It’s been cold here in my corner of Alberta, Canada. Right now it’s -13c (9F). With the sun shining brightly. Now one would think after all my years of living here (13 now), I would be used to the cold.
Nope, I’m not. I hate it. If I remember right, it’s one of the reasons I moved from Wisconsin so many years ago. Because it was freakin‘ cold in the winter! I don’t like being cold, it makes me cranky. It makes my old bones creak, moan and hurt. But, isn’t there almost always a but? But, I love the snow. Go figure right?
I love when the first snow falls and the landscape looks picture perfect. All the dull browns of a frozen fall are covered up. Snow is so pretty when the sun shines on it and it sparkles like a giant white diamond. I even like the crunch it makes when its super cold outside.
As for the cold itself. No, I don’t like it. Why can’t I have snow in warm weather? Or better yet in the middle of summer when it’s 34C out? Now that’s the perfect time for snow! Think how refreshing it would be to jump in a big sparkly pile of snow when it’s hot out.
Sam (my dog) loves the snow too, but like me, not the cold. He loves to roll in the snow, wipe his face in the snow, plow through like a mini black and white snow plow. Now that’s cute!
Here’s Sam and me in the winter snow.

How would you finish the sentence?
Good morning People! Hope your weekend is off to a great start!
Earlier this week at my house we had a wee mouse problem. Notwen, my male cat caught a mouse and decided to play with it in my office. While he was playing with it, the mouse got loose and ran inside the motor compartment of my treadmill. That’s when the debacle began.
First I had to take the motor cover off the treadmill, hoping all the while the mouse didn’t decide I looked like a better place to hide. Sam meantime is trying to get the mouse for all his little heart would let him. The cats? Sleeping.
I got the cover off the motor and sure enough there was the mouse! It made a run for it with Sam on its long tail!! All over my room!! With me ‘ekking’!! The cats? Sleeping.
I have a small bookcase against one wall and the mouse made a run for it! Sure enough it got under it with Sam close behind him. So there I was, wondering how to get the mouse from under the bookcase without having to unload the many, many books on it! My knee was killing me, my tooth hurt and Sam was going nuts! The cats? Sleeping.
So I had this long metal rod, told Sam to keep a sharp eye out and swept the rod under the bookcase. All the time hoping once again the mouse didn’t decide to run straight to me, because people, me with a bum knee, I wasn’t moving too fast. This was after a rest in my chair drinking some cold water and listening to Sam snuff and sniff under the bookcase. The cats? Sleeping.
So I get down on the floor, groaning and moaning because I’m old and my knee hurt like hell. Sam is standing at the ready and I sweep that metal rod under the bookcase. I at least was smart enough to sweep it to the side away from me. Out comes that long-tailed little rodent as fast as his legs could go! Straight toward the treadmill again! Sam right behind him and this time Sam caught him!! Yea Sam!! The cats? Sleeping.
I yell at Sam to drop it! He drops it and I give it a hard rap with the metal rod. It’s dead. I’m huffing and puffing like I just ran 10 miles. Sam is looking at me like, “Mom can I eat it now??” The cats? Finally woke up and sauntered in for a bored look.
I yell at Sam not to eat the damn mouse! He looks hurt. I grab a bag to sweep the now dead mouse in, hoping it really is dead and not going to get up and run up my leg. The cats? Laying down watching us like we were weird……yawning.
I manage to push the dead mouse into the bag and close the bag, all the while Sam is looking like I stole his favorite chew toy. The cats? Sleeping…..again.
I hobble out to the kitchen, put the bag with the dead mouse in the trash bag, tie close the trash bag and hobble it out to the dumpster. Sam following my every footstep, wanting his new toy back. The cats? SLEEPING!!!!!
So I of course had to make a Sam and Me comic out of it. Enjoy.

As many of you know, I hurt my knee a few months ago. It’s been a slow, long healing process that I am still going through. What doesn’t help is that my bed is the bed from hell. I go to bed and my knee is feeling pretty good. I get up in the morning and my knee hurts like hell, I’m tired yet and I have more body aches than I can count. The only thing I can figure out is my bed is the Torturous Bed!
Well that’s my opinion. I know I need a new mattress, but I can’t afford one. Anyone out there want to buy me a new one? No? Anyone? LOL
I thought a new Sam and Me comic was in order today showing my bed as an evil thing…..hope you enjoy!
