Share Your World – 2014 Week 22

Cee over at Cee’s photography puts up a post challenge every Monday. It’s called Share Your World. She asks 4 questions and you give answers in a post so we can all get to know our fellow bloggers a little better. Thanks Cee, it’s a wonderful idea. Why not come and join us?

So here is my answers to this week’s question.

Regarding animals would you prefer not having them around or having domestic pets, farm animals, or seeing them in nature or the zoo?

I love all animals. I have always had pets, usually dogs, but I love cats too. I’ve been on farms and around farm animals. I prefer seeing animals free and natural, but some zoo’s I know are getting better about the keeping of animals. I would love to have the money and acreage to have a place for abused animals come to and live their life out as free as possible and well taken care of. That’s always been a dream of mine. Come on lottery winnings!!

Are you a collector of anything?

I used to be. After losing my things so many times in my life, I have become less and less materialistic. That and I hate to dust LOL. I used to collect Santa’s, coke things, anything with wolves. Now all I collect is years and memories.

If you could know the answer to any question, besides “What is the meaning of life?”, what would it be?

Why can’t people just get along and accept each other’s differences as something good and not bad?

If you were to treat yourself to the “finer things” what would you treat yourself to?

Some really good expensive coffee beans. Mmmmm. Coffee……  Or, all the books I want and can’t afford. Or, all the painting supplies I want but can’t afford. And to go with that I would have a big studio with lots of natural light. Other than that, I’m good. I’m not one much for clothes or shoes or jewelry. So for me, those are the “finer things” in life.

Share Your World – 2014 Week 13

Hello people!

It’s time for another edition of Share Your World. Cee from Cee’s Photography asks us 4 questions that we answer and share.

So there is this week’s questions. Thank you for reading! And please feel free to comment. I love comments!

Do you believe in extraterrestrials or life on other planets?

Yes, I do. We can’t be the only intelligent life out in that big, huge galaxy. We are nothing but a tiny speck in the universe, we cannot be so arrogant as to assume we are the only ones out there.

What type of pet or pets do you not want to have?

I love all animals, I do. But I would not have spiders, or snakes as pets. Never! What if they got out? No! Uh uh, no way. I would not be able to sleep just thinking they might escape.

If you were a crayon, what color would you be?

Oh, it would have to be something bright. Like red, orange, yellow, any really bright color full of hope and happiness.

What type of transportation would you be? Why?

At my age, it’s going to have to be something slower than a race car. LOL  Maybe a nice pretty scooter. It shoots along pretty good, gets into tight places and is fun to drive. Easy on the wallet, yet classy.  It fits two people, but they need to be real close. As an introvert, not everyone is invited to join me and my scooter.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

This last week I’m grateful to best friends, plans coming together and communication.  As for this week, I’m looking forward to some of the same. I’m easy to please.

Share Your World – 2014 Week 9

Once again, it’s time for Cee’s Share Your World. This is the chance for us to share a little about ourselves. Now isn’t that exciting? Hey, we all want to get to know our fellow bloggers. That way they aren’t just words on your computer, iPhone, iPad or whatever other device you use.

We become a bit more human and little less bot. It’s all good. Cee usually asks us 4 questions that we are to answer. This time we got us a bonus question too. Now, let’s get on with it, shall we?

Would you prefer a reading nook or an art, craft, photography studio?

Could I not have both? I mean I would just be dreaming anyway, as I can’t afford to have them, nor do I have room for them. So, since I am dreaming, I want them both. A nice quiet, comfortable reading nook. A place that has a soft place to sit or lounge. Bright and cheerful yet lets you have a piece of solitude.

Then I would like a separate room that is well lit, airy and spacious for an art room. Someplace I can leave my easel standing, my paints laid out, brushes at the ready. A room with lots of natural light, maybe a wall of windows, or a skylight. Well, why not both? It is my dream after all. I would also want a place in the corner for my iPod stand. I have one of those that you set your iPod in and it charges it, but also lets you play it. I like to blast music as I paint. That’s not too much to ask for is it?

Would you prefer the TV in the living room or another room?

The TV could stay in the living room. That’s fine with me. The only place I don’t like a TV is in the bedroom. I need quiet to sleep, I don’t need a TV keeping me up at night. I can certainly think of other more enjoyable ways to keep me awake at night other than the TV.

What color would you like your bedroom to be?

My bedroom right now is a boring dark beige sort of color. I didn’t choose it, it was that color when I moved in here. For a bedroom, white is always a good choice. Or I like soothing colors, light green, blue, I’ve even had at one time a pale lavender. It works. Nothing bright, as it should be a place of softness and comfort. At least in my opinion.

Would you prefer a one floor house or multiple levels?

Depends really. I’ve lived in both. As I get older, though, a one level might be easier on me. But having the bedrooms upstairs, where nosy people can’t readily look in there works too. Ha-ha! I like my privacy. I used to know a man who loved going through the other friends’ bedrooms. He said you really got to know your friends by their bedrooms, how neat they kept them, what they had in them, etc. I asked him once if he went through peoples drawers and stuff. He said if given a chance he did. Needless to say, he didn’t stay a friend for long. That for me crosses the line into creepy!

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I’m grateful for friends, for being able to be there for them, even if it’s in a small way. I’m grateful that it became one more week closer to spring! Bring it on!

I’m looking forward to warmer weather in the coming week that has been promised to us from the weather guys.

So what are YOU grateful for this week?

Share My World ~ 2014 (Week 5)

Hello people! Hope your day is going great!

I’m trying something new today. I’ve decided to join Cee’s challenge of Share Your World. You can find her blog here.  It’s a wonderful way of getting to  know someone. It sounded fun, so I’m giving it a go.

That and I was stumped on what to write today. Hey! At least I’m honest! I always did like a challenge.

Also, please read part one of The Cat People of Kagir. It’s a collaboration between me and Michael of Morpethroad. A few weeks ago we got the brilliant idea to combine our talents on writing this story from seeing how our Friday Fictioneer stories of that week were of a similar thread. Emails flew between us fast and furiously in putting this bigger story together. Tomorrow I will be posting part 2. So please, go visit Michael and read what happens when you put together a man from Australia and a woman from Canada, who have vivid imaginations about mists, manors and mayhem.

Now for Cee’s Share Your World questions.

If you had a choice to live anywhere would be your preference salt water beaches, forest, fresh water lakes, hot tub, ski resort or desert?

I have always had a love for forests. Then again, I’ve always felt so welcomed at the lakes. So I’m going to have to combine the two. If I had the choice and the money to do it with I would live in the forest next to a lake. I would have a cozy little cabin, surrounded by trees and with a beautiful serene lake to gaze upon. I found early in life that my thoughts would wander when I was in a forest or sitting on a dock on a lake. My mind would build fantastic worlds with wonderful, colorful characters. I would sit for hours when I was a child on the dock of the lake when we would go for family vacations. I would daydream and build my worlds where I could do anything or be anyone. Ah, I would so love to be back there again.

What was your favorite toy as a child. . . And now?

I’m not sure if I had a favorite toy when I was a child. My siblings and I never had many toys, as we were on the poor side. I do remember one though, and I think I’ve talked about it before. Once Christmas I received from Santa a large doll. She was as tall as I was! You could dress her up and comb her hair. She was my playmate for quite some time.

very close to what I remember
very close to what I remember

As for now? I would have to say my computer is my favorite toy. I can find out about anything, talk with friends, and write stories! So yes, I would have to say my computer.

Which do you prefer, sweet, salty or both at the same time?

I am going to choose sweet on this one. Of course, being a diabetic I can’t really have sweets. In the same sense being a diabetic I sometimes crave sweets. The trick is not to give into the cravings. Yeah. Bummer. I don’t like salty things, so I know that is out for sure.

Now give me a piece of cheese and I’m happy. I love cheese!

Would you prefer snowy winters, or not, and why?

Growing up in Wisconsin and now living in Canada one could presume I enjoy snowy winters. And I do. I lived in Texas for many years and just never got used to the dry, brown winters. Now if only I could figure out how to get snowy winters, but have warm weather. Then it would be the perfect place for me!

Why do I prefer snow? Well, its beautiful for one. When it comes slowly floating down, flakes as big as saucers, piling up on the ground. The sun comes shining through the clouds and the piles of snow look like diamonds glittering. Watching Sam, my little dog enjoying himself running through the snow. His nose down, his tail wagging, plowing up little ruts till his face looks like it’s been dipped in sugar.

Driving on it is sometimes scary, but it still doesn’t diminish my enjoyment of snow. The best way to enjoy it? Indoors with a nice cup of coffee, warm slippers on my feet, just sitting and being toasty warm yet watching the snow turn everything white. Like a giant canvas waiting for life’s brushes of color.

Perfection! source
