Good day everyone!
Here is my weekly rendition of being a writer. Friday Fictioneer time! Trying to get this snuck in really quick because I have to get to my NaNoWriMo thing.
Yeah, I’m doing NaNo again this year. Today is the first day of 30 days of continuous writing. Cheers to all who are participating! I won last year and am determined to do so again this year.
More on that later. I will do a post on how my first day went either later today or tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed for me! Oh wait, that might not be a good idea, because well, you might need those fingers to type. Oops, sorry about that. Ok, then cross your toes! 😉
On with Friday Fictioneers!
THE CHALLENGE:
Write a one hundred word story that has a beginning, middle and an end. (No one will be ostracized for going a few words over the count.)
THE KEY:
Make every word count.

Genre: General Fiction (100 words)
He was feeding his Koi when they came for him.
“Mr. Howard? I’m Detective Lemere, I’ve a warrant to search your premises.”
“Hello Detective. Just what are you hoping to find?”
“Jewels, Mr. Howard. We know you stole millions in jewels and we’re going to find them.”
“You’ll find no jewels Detective.”
After hours of searching, his men finding nothing, Detective Lemere was forced to give up. He had been positive that Howard was their jewel thief.
Mr. Howard continued to watch his Koi. It was so peaceful, tranquil with the sunlight reflecting off the shiny colored rocks in the water.
Great one! The value of those fish just went up. Best of luck with NaNo! You can do it.

Thank you tiny! Yes, finally got a little progress on the other work, not as much as I wanted. But I will make up for it this weekend. 🙂

I see you logged your word count. Yay!! I had over 5300 words today but not a single one counted toward NaNo. Ugh! But it still felt great. 🙂

Maddie! I was going to send you an email about my tale of woe. The reason I didn’t log as many words as I wanted today. What you see I’ve done was done in a little over an hour. What could go wrong today did and I got a very very late start! Sniff, don’t you feel sorry for me?? Yea! on your word count lady. You are making tracks! I’m jealous. 😉

Dear Jackie,
I thought the jewels were going to be in the fishkets. Great story.

Dear Doug,
I thought about that, then changed my mind. More out in the open worked better. Thanks for reading.

Dear Jackie,
It’s all in the delivery. Howard’s calm in the face of interrogation certainly helped throw them off. Shiny rocks indeed. Nice one.
Shalom,
Rochelle
