NaPoWriMo Poem 5 ~~ Sam

Here is my effort for NaPoWriMo for day 5.  This one is about my dog Sam. Many of you have heard of him before, and of course I have my Sam and Me comics. He’s a special little guy.

Sam

Sam, Sammy, Sam the Man, he was heaven-sent

My buddy, my friend, my confident

He’s a tiny dog with a giant personality

I laugh, giggle and shake my head at his mentality

He begs for treats, looking oh so sweet

but quickly loses interest when he hears a birds tweet

he barks at planes and birds alike

to him they are all noisy things in flight

He steals the cat’s food

and ignores their hiss’ and boo’s

He’s a black and white bundle of love

who snuggles close in bed, even when I give him a shove

He hates being bathed and groomed

but attracts dirt like a mop or broom

He loves company and dances when they come

he knows they will give him treats

you see, he’s not dumb

My little 10 pounds of joy

is a good little boy

He loves me unconditionally and proves it each day

because he’s just made that way
